journalRAGE, Out for Equality Sign Partnership

January 10, 2024 by izszl

Montreal – journalRAGE and Out For Equality have signed a partnership agreement that gives the US-based organization the right to represent it as a fiscal sponsor in the United States.

Journal RAGE Media Inc is a not-for-profit online platform based in Liberia whose mission is to report properly, fairly, and  independently on the LGBTQ+ community in Liberia. It was founded in 2019 by Gboko Stewart.

Out For Equality is a non-profit human rights organization based in the United States whose mission is to provide strategy and support to global grassroots LGBTQ+ organizations fighting for human rights and dignities in their communities.

The agreement allows Out For Equality to accept financial contributions on journalRAGE’s behalf. These contributions go towards the growth and development of journalRAGE in Liberia and across the subregion.

Gboko Stewart, Curator-in-Chief of journalRAGE, said he is pleased about the partnership the organizations have signed.

Brian Rusch, Executive Director of Out For Equality

“We are excited about partnering with Out for Equality to further our goal of spreading proper human rights reportage within Liberia and across the subregion. Funding has been one of our biggest challenges, and with OFE’s status as a 501(C) in the United States, we are assured that this agreement will be able to bridge the gap.”

Brian Rusch, Executive Director of Out For Equality expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership in a statement.

“Out for Equality was created with the mission of providing strategy and resources to grassroot LGBTQ+ organizations around the globe. I am thrilled about this new partnership with journalRAGE as the kind of honest, fearless reporting they do on issues facing the LGBT+ community in Liberia drives awareness which is the first step to securing human rights for that community.”
